One Minute of Fitness Inspiration – Facing Giants

Facing Giants (discouragement) – Do you ever feel like you’re facing giants? Goals you’ve set for yourself (fitness goals, health related goals, weight loss goals, nutritional goals) sometimes look like Goliath?  They seemed reasonable at first but now you see them way over in the distance and you want them so bad, you know what you need to do to reach them, but they just seem too big.  Doing what you need to do seems to hard.  Maybe you came close in the past but then slipped back down the hill and you keep clawing your way back toward them but they never seem to get any closer.  Then comes discouragement and you give up.  Let me offer you a sling shot and five smooth stones so you can defeat your Goliath. Set SMART Goals – Specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely (set a realistic time frame that allows for real lifestyle change to happen).  Knock down your Giant goals into short-term, attainable goals and know your plan.  “I’m going to lose 10 pounds within the next three months by running for 30 minutes 3 x per week and lifting weights twice a week and eating a clean, whole food diet.”  Write it down and keep it before you eyes all the time.  You’ll reach your short-term goal, then you can set another one.  I hope this offers some hope and inspiration to you today.
